Together with

Harford County's hometown window & door company

Hello Friends—

Welcome to the 59 new subscribers who joined since last week’s edition. Happy to have you in our (growing) community of 11,500+ readers!

Sad news in the local food scene this week: Steelefish Grille abruptly closed its doors. As you can imagine, Facebook had plenty of speculation and rumors flying around — but I’ll leave the detective work to the comments section. I’m just the guy who endlessly scrolls social media to figure out what’s going on so you don’t have to. Anyways.

🏠 For Sale: This 4-bed, 3.5-bath Woodland Hills home brings 3,428 sq. ft., a renovated gourmet kitchen, a screened porch, and a saltwater pool with a waterfall and jets. The finished lower level adds a custom bar and rec space, while the fenced backyard backs to mature trees. Priced at $740,000.

🐟 Menu Item: Basta Pasta Fallston’s Salmon Florentine pairs tender salmon with fresh spinach in a rich, creamy sauce. Comforting, flavorful, and exactly the kind of dinner that makes choosing pasta surprisingly difficult.

💆 Local Deal: Take $20 off any Siwi Spa service — head spa treatments, facials, foot reflexology, and more — with code BRIEF26. Book online and enter the code at checkout by August 31, 2026; find Siwi Spa at 2105 Laurel Bush Rd #100 in Bel Air.

Now to this weekend…

  • Pilates & Pints at Falling Branch Brewery…

  • Natalie’s End-of-Summer Market…

  • And the Steelefish Grille Closes Its Doors After 14 Years…

Scroll down, make plans, and enjoy your weekend!

Date Spot Of The Week

📍 Barrett’s on the Pike, 588 Baltimore Pike, Bel Air

If you want a date night that feels polished without turning into a full black-tie production, Barrett’s on the Pike fits the bill. The dining room is contemporary, the menu walks the line between seafood, steakhouse favorites, and comfort-food cravings, and reservations are accepted — a small but meaningful gift to anyone who has ever tried to wing it on a Saturday night.

What to order: Start with the Shrimp Cargot ($18), Seared Scallops ($18), or Buffalo Calamari ($18) to share. For dinner, the Filet ($38–$44) with a featured vegetable is the classic special-occasion play, while the Seafood Scampi ($28) with mussels, shrimp, and clams over linguini is a strong move for seafood fans. The Braised Short Ribs ($29) with sweet corn and roasted poblano purée bring the comfort, and the Maryland Crab Cakes ($45) are the choice when you want to make the most Maryland order possible. Save room for the Seasonal Hummus, Kale Cauliflower Salad, or Strawberry Fields salad if you’re easing into the night a little lighter.

The vibe: Open, warm, and date-night-ready without feeling stuffy. It works just as well for cocktails and shared starters as it does for an actual sit-down dinner, which makes it one of the more flexible picks in Bel Air.

Thanks for reading the Bel Air Brief today. Share it with someone who lives for Sandwich Stock (coming in September!)
